Even though mtn slashed their midnight browsing plan, getting 250mb for 25 naira and 500mb for 50 naira is still a fair deal and can still satisfy your need if used and managed properly.
Mtn pulse night browsing plan has being around for some years now. Initially we used to used to enjoy 500mb for just 25 naira during midnight but now it has reduced to 250mb for 25 naira and 500mb for 50 naira.
The maximum data you’re allowed to use each night is 500mb, meaning you can subscribe for the 250mb twice after you’ve exhausted the first one and this data can only be used from 12am to 5am.
Once it’s 5am the mtn midnight browsing will be terminated, whether you exhaust it or not every other data will be charged from your main data plan if you have any.
However most people are complaining lately that even after subscribing for an mtn night browsing plan, they are still charged from their main data plan. I thought it was a hoax until I tried it and noticed the same.
I’m sure this is a mistake from their own side and I hope it’s resolved very soon but here’s what you can do to avoid this.
If you have an active data plan and subscribe for the mtn midnight browsing plan before 12am, once it’s 12am switch your phone to airplane mode, wait for 2 seconds and remove it from airplane mode or you simply reboot your phone.
Doing this will stop them from charging data from your main data plan but rather from the mtn midnight plan that you subscribed for but bear in mind that once you exhaust the midnight plan even if it’s before 5am, they’ll instantly start charging from your main data plan.
But how can you know that you have exhausted your mtn midnight browsing plan?
Unfortunately there’s no ussd code to check your mtn night browsing plan. However if you subscribe for the mtn midnight browsing using MyMtn App, then you can view your night plan balance from the app or you go to your settings > data usage > toggle it on> set data limit and monitor your data usage from there.
Update: You can now check your mtn midnight browsing balance using ussd code. To check your mtn night browsing balance just dial *559*96#. Your mtn night plan data balance will be displayed to you instantly.
Or you can dial *406#, Select 3 (NightLife Bundles) then Select 3 (Balance) and your mt night plan balance will be displayed to you instantly.
With the above short explanation I think I have answered all possible questions that you might have regarding the mtn night plan sub activation. So let’s quickly dive in to the code for mtn night browsing.
Mtn pulse night plan
Before you can subscribe for the mtn night browsing plan you must be on the mtn pulse tariff or else you won’t be allowed to subscribe.
If you’re not on the mtn pulse tariff dial *406# > select 1 to migrate to mtn pulse, migration is free if your current tariff is up to a month.
If you’ve successfully migrated to mtn pulse you can now subscribe for the mtn pulse night plan using the code below.
Mtn night browsing code
Like I said earlier the mtn midnight browsing plan come in two ways, we have the mtn 25 naira night plan and mtn 50 naira night plan, the former gives a total cap of 250mb and the latter gives you 500mb.
You can subscribe again for the 250mb after you exhaust the first one but you’re only allowed to subscribe once for the 500mb. Below is the code to subscribe for them.
Make sure you have at least 50 naira in your main airtime account balance not bonus account and you can only subscribe for this package only once in a night.
To subscribe dial *406#
Select 4 – NightLife Bundles
Select 1 – 500MB Pulse Nightlife
Select 1 to Confirm
That’s it you’ll be notified of the successful night plan subscription which will be activated from 12am that day to 5am.
After reaching the night plan 500MB limit and you’re not done with what you’re doing, you can simply repeat the same step on another mtn sim if you have any.
That means you can subscribe and get another 500MB on a different mtn sim, you can do it in multiple mtn sims and get enough data to suit your need but make sure your nepa people are not aware you’re awake else they’ll take the light lol.
